On one side of the lower portion of this sculpture Kinnebrew has, in pencil, written the lengthy response of Socrates to his inquisitors and subsequent executioners. It is profound, a testimony to the freedom of thought and speech. An enduring reminder of the dreamers who have and still walk among us.

In 399 B.C.E. this great man challenged the greatest democracy in the world and paid the ultimate price for his beliefs. His words resonated then and still do today. Great thoughts, like great art is timeless. The recorded lessons are still unheeded and often corrupted by others.
